MASTER
GAMESPEED

WHY MOST ATHLETES ARE A STEP BEHIND

The ability to create and take space is essential in team sports, and training for this requires a focus on GAMESPEED (multi-directional speed), not just linear sprinting.

Most speed coaches emphasize sprinter-style training, but that approach doesn’t work for athletes who need to move quickly in all directions on the field or court. Flashy drills like cone and ladder work may look impressive but won’t turn average acceleration into elite speed.

To truly develop game-speed, team sport athletes need to focus on acceleration, max velocity, deceleration, and multi-directional speed. Mastering these elements is crucial to successfully creating and taking space in team sports.

THE ELEMENTS OF
GAME-SPEED

_Website Number 1.png
ACCELERATION

The ability to quickly increase speed is crucial for reacting to game scenarios and creating or closing space in team sports. Acceleration is often more important than top-end speed in team sports.

MAX VELOCITY

While less frequent in team sports compared to acceleration, max velocity is critical for situations requiring extended sprints, like chasing a breakaway or recovering defensively.

DECELERATION

The ability to reduce speed quickly and efficiently is vital in team sports. It allows athletes to stop or slow down in preparation for a change in direction. Proper deceleration mechanics not only enhance performance but also reduce the risk of injuries, particularly to the knees and lower body.

CHANGE
OF DIRECTION

This element is essential for navigating dynamic team sport scenarios. It enables athletes to evade defenders, create space, or transition smoothly between offensive and defensive actions. Effective COD enhances game performance and reduces the risk of injuries.

YOUR COMPETITVE ADVANTAGE

RELATIVE FORCE PRODUCTION IN THE GYM

The first key to multi-directional speed and agility is building relative force. Athletes can't move quickly in all directions without first developing power. This strength isn’t developed on the field; it’s built in the gym.

When an athlete can generate more force per kilogram of body weight, it directly leads to improved speed and agility — whether they’re accelerating, decelerating, or changing direction.

ACCELERATION, MAX SPEED, & DECELERATION
TECHNIQUE

There’s no denying that improving running mechanics can help the team-sport athlete; it’s often the lowest hanging fruit and yields the biggest reward.

The athlete who can optimize their quickness in the first few steps will always have an advantage in team sports, just as those who can harness their top-end potential with excellent speed mechanics.

The same goes for agility — athletes who refine their ability to change direction quickly and efficiently will be able to create and take space more effectively, giving them an edge in fast-paced, unpredictable game situations.

ON-FIELD GAME SIMULATION

It’s surprising how often this element is overlooked in speed and agility training. To get faster, you need to sprint and to turn on a dime you need to practice it—plain and simple.

No amount of technique drills or strength training will help unless an athlete is actually sprinting or cutting at high speeds.

Integrating every element at full intensity ensures that strength and mechanics translate into real speed and agility on the field or court.

HOW IT WORKS

Unlike most speed programs that focus on speed in isolation, our speed and agility training is fully integrated into the Athlete Performance Membership .

You'll enhance strength and power, master acceleration and deceleration, and learn effective running and change-of-direction mechanics

This is achieved through a combination of in-gym workouts and on-field training, ensuring all elements come together while minimizing injury risk for team-sport athletes.

If you’ve been searching for "sprint training near me" with little to show for it, we’ve got you covered. The Athlete Performance Membership helps athletes of all levels strengthen weaknesses, reduce injury risk, and unlock their speed potential. Unlike other programs that begin and end on the field, we combine everything an athlete needs to reach their maximum speed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is my program customized to my needs? No two athletes are created equal, and because of that, all programs are individualized as needed for our athletes. The sports assessment allows us to identify exactly what you need to take your performance to the next level in a way that is unique to you.

How is my progress monitored? Athlete progress is constantly monitored. Whether that’s in day-to-day training and reporting, or more formally every eight to twelve weeks with performance testing using VALD Performance technology. We hold ourselves accountable to data and believe that what doesn’t get measured doesn’t get improved.

How often should I train to maximize results? All training programs are individualized for our athletes and for that reason, some athletes will see results with two sessions, while others might need more. We make suggestions on training frequency based on variables including: your schedule, whether you are in pre-season, off- season, or in-season, and your training history. Generally, the higher your exposure to strength, power, and speed training, the greater the outcome. We recommend at least three (3) sessions per week for higher level athletes. If you’re a novice to this form of training, two (2) times per week usually works well.

Why can’t I pay per session? “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” The same applies to athletic ambition and performance. Precision Athletix training is a MEMBERSHIP that grants access to multiple inclusions. Committing to a membership encourages consistent training. It allows enough time for our expertise, training system, and your hard work to produce incredible results.

Am I coached and supervised when I train? Yes, semi-private training offers 4:1 athlete: coach ratio meaning you will train with up to 4 other athletes at a time. We keep our athlete-to-coach ratio low to ensure adequate supervision and more personalized experience.

At what age do you start training athletes? There is an expectation of a high level of maturity and focus during our coaching sessions. While we don’t usually work with athletes less than twelve years old, we have trained athletes as young as 12 years old. If we’re confident after meeting that you’ll fit our training culture, we’ll invite you to train. If you’re just a little too young, we’ll let you know when we think you’ll be ready.

What are my payment options? Auto-payments are made weekly to keep up front costs manageable for clients. Payment is due 7 days from initial payment and will continue for the duration of the training plan selected.

What if I miss a session, a session is canceled, or I go on vacation? If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, it WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. There are up to 15 training slots available every day, 75 slots a week, allowing ample availability for rescheduling. This model benefits ALL clients, allowing us to maintain open availability for scheduling flexibility and promotes consistent training to optimize outcomes. Currently, pauses in payments are ONLY available to our Comprehensive members. Pauses in payments will be applied for periods of absence lasting MORE than two (2) weeks, ONE TIME in a 16-week period and ONLY if a minimum of one (1) months’ notice is given. Our cancelation and vacation policies allow us to maintain: -open availability for scheduling flexibility -consistent training to optimize outcomes, allowing clients to ger their money’s worth. -access to quality equipment. -access to the latest sports science technology. -access to top-tier coaching with gold-standard certifications (CSCS, NASM-PES) who stay up to date on the most effective training practices.

It’s kind of expensive, why is that? Our program has inclusions that you won’t find anywhere else, and we also utilize elite technology in the program that you’d pay extra for with other training models. We build these into the price to keep it reasonable overall while covering costs. It allows us to continue utilizing technology, offer exclusive inclusions, and maintain scheduling flexibility for your convenience resulting in a top- quality program. Training is an investment in your athletic future. We understand that life is expensive, and we want our members to get their money’s worth. Our number one goal is to make a positive impact on athlete development and performance. We also know that sporadic per session training and short-term training does NOT work. Athletes will see short-term gains and then regress to where they started. Training is ONLY successful and worth the cost if it is consistent and progresses over a period of months to years. The Athlete Performance Program is a commitment, and it is NOT for everyone.
